Psychologists have studied humans for centuries... think cognitive processes like decision-making and attention; social influences from friends, strangers and even machines (!); behavioural science including how beliefs and attitudes are adopted, change and spread; and much much more.
The last few decades have also seen incredible growth in technology across a spectrum of fields - connected devices which are smaller, more powerful and more widely deployed; ambitious climate tech; robots in factories, homes and theme parks; AI which speak and reason in a human-like way - and MORE!
How can we bring these together to tackle our greatest societal challenges?
I'm currently working at Cambridge Consultants, applying principles from psychology into technology development and innovation in the Human Machine Understanding group. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychological and Behavioural Science from the University of Cambridge.
Be flexible: What “psychology” looks like isn’t always obvious, esp when intersecting with design, consumer insights, tech development, and other fields. However, human-centricity as a principle is common - embrace it!
Learn & know yourself: What are you interested in? There are so many fields to explore and market sectors to apply your knowledge to. Remember to balance breadth and depth of understanding.
Communicate: Who knows where connections may arise? :)
From social science discoveries to the latest news in tech, I love hearing unique perspectives from all corners of the world.
Are you an entrepreneur? Do you lead innovation in your organisation? Are you interested in fresh insights? Reach out!
